Nick White
Nick is head of our in house forensic accounting department. He is a chartered accountant of 20 years standing who until late 2004 had been a partner in national and local firms of chartered accountants in which he had specialised in forensic accounting matters for about 15 years. His experience covered all manner of cases from small personal injury cases amounting to a few hundred pounds to international multi-million frauds. He was also very experienced in dealing with matrimonial ancillary relief matters. Nick’s role in Stowe Family Law encompasses many aspects of a client’s affairs, including assisting our clients with their own financial disclosure and in investigating the accuracy and completeness of the financial disclosure provided by our client’s spouse/ civil partner, particularly where there are business and/ or off-shore interests.
Stowe Family Law is a unique family law unit that has dedicated financial experts to assist its clients in achieving the best possible financial settlement. Much of Nick’s experience prior to joining Stowe Family Law in 2004 related to the valuation of shareholdings in companies as well as valuations of the companies/ businesses themselves, particularly in connection with family proceedings. Nick is therefore well versed in reading and understanding the complex financial information disclosed by our clients’ partners and in evaluating its veracity.
He is also well able to understand the various ways in which clients and their partners choose to take income from companies and the related tax regimes. In matters where there are significant financial issues, Nick will be involved throughout the conduct of the case and will frequently attend in conferences with Counsel as well as assist with the negotiations between the parties and at Court.
