Users of popular photo sharing app Instagram have begun posting friendly photos of themselves and their ex-spouse after divorce, using the hashtag #divorceselfie.
The fashion was started by Canadian ex-couple Shannon and Chris Neuman, who posted a smiling portrait of themselves outside the courtroom in Calgary immediately after they had filed for divorce. Shannon posted the photo on her Facebook page, with a message stating that she and Chris had “respectfully, thoughtfully and honourably ended our marriage”. They were determined, she continued, to “go forward as parenting partners for our children….so they will never have to choose”, adding the search tag #divorceselfie.
The post proved extremely popular and was shared more than 30,000 times. The idea then quickly spread to Facebook subsidiary Instagram, with a succession of newly divorced couples smiling for the camera, each photo also featuring the Shannon’s #divorceselfie tag.
Instagram user Keith Hinson, user name hinsonkt, included his newly issued divorce certificate in his divorce portrait, along with his now ex-wife, declaring:
We are officially un-married. Here’s to the most friendly, respectful, and loving split imaginable. We smile not because it’s over, but because it happened. #divorceselfie
His photo attracted 538 likes on the Instagram network.
A cornerstone for civility and certainly considering the circumstances in the best interests of the children.
Then why are those who wish to poison and pollute rhe minds of children in their psychotic hostility allowed to roam society with demonic freedom!
