Marilyn Stowe chairs family law conference

Over 100 lawyers attended the family law conference which covered, in a one day, tightly packed schedule, a range of family law topics including complex child contact issues involving hostile parents; an update on current Ancillary Relief cases; consideration of the Civil Partnership Act which comes into force in December 2005 in relation to same-sex marriage; a review of the unsatisfactory state of current Cohabitation and Property law; the Adoption and Children Act 2002 which will come into force in December 2005; and Negotiation skills.

Speakers included HH Judge Lesley Newton and DDJ Hilary Dunn; Gita Conn OBE and Salli Ward of Pro-Contact, Manchester; Barristers Leonie Caplin, Jonathan Grieson, Sarah Harrison and Martin Downs.
