Day to day role
Ashley is a Legal Assistant/Paralegal. Her role is to assist the lawyers in the Manchester office, supporting them in their caseloads, from liaising with clients to helping them prepare for court cases. This can involve taking client instructions, drafting documents, sending letters, preparing Court forms and Bundles and issuing them to Court. She also assists in researching cases and attending court if necessary.
Ashley completed her Law with Criminology Degree ( LLB) at Bangor University in 2015 graduating with a First. She then progressed onto studying the Bar ( BPTC) at Manchester Metropolitan University in 2016. Ashley is currently studying for a Psychology Masters ( MSC) at Leeds Beckett University, hopefully graduating in 2021. She is a member of the Honourable Society of Lincoln’s Inn.
She has spent the last 6 years working at various law firms gaining experience within the private and public sector. Most of her experience is within Family and Criminal Law working as a Legal Secretary and Family Paralegal as that is where her personal interest of the Law lies. However she also has exposure to personal injury and immigration which she also find just as fascinating.
She has future plans to hopefully study the CILEX and qualify as a Legal Executive. Throughout the years Ashley has also participated in volunteering as a clerk/usher for Manchester and Caernarfon Crown Court and as a legal Advisor at the Personal Support Unit at Manchester Civil Justice Centre.
Outside of work
Ashley enjoys spending time and being social with friends and family, especially enjoying going to gigs and the cinema or to the pub for a roast on Sunday after a lovely dog walk with her pug Dawson.
