Legal Assistant, Nottingham
Shannon joined Stowe Family Law’s Nottingham team as a Legal Assistant in 2022.
Shannon started her legal career in April 2018 and has roughly 3 years of experience working as a Legal Assistant. She moved to a family law firm in 2020 to solely focus on Family Law and has worked as a paralegal for over a year.
Shannon decided to take her Law degree at The Open University due to the flexibility it provided and studied full-time whilst working full-time to ensure she could get the qualification whilst also gaining the relevant experience. She finished her LLB with a 2:1 in June 2021.
Shannon is currently studying at the University of Law part-time. She is currently studying the LLM Legal Practice (SQE 1 and 2) which should be completed by December 2023. Shannon joined Stowe Family Law’s Nottingham team as a Legal Assistant in 2022.
Shannon had conduct of divorce, statutory declaration and change of name files at her previous firm and this is where her expertise lies however, she also helps fee earners with delegated work and court documentation in relation to Finances, Injunctions, Child Arrangements and Cohabitation Disputes.
In the future, Shannon would like to delve more into helping those involved in domestic violence, International Child Abduction and Child Arrangements.
Travelling is Shannon’s favourite thing to do and she spends most of her time looking at new locations to explore. She also enjoys eating out, spending time with her loved ones and reading self-help/development books.
