Considering counselling

Facing the decision to end your relationship can be traumatic.  Separating from your partner will have a big impact on you and your children’s (if you have any) lives.

Before deciding to separate, it can be beneficial to consider counselling either by yourself or as a couple.

A relationship counsellor can help you work through your emotions and decide what is right for you. They will not tell you what to do or take sides but will listen and help you explore what your options are.

If you go as a couple, a counsellor will help you talk through your issues in a calm and measured way and help you both listen to each other and communicate more effectively.

And, if ultimately you do decide to move on, counselling can help you emotionally prepare for the changes ahead, help you take care of yourself and have a more amicable and considered separation.
