Maya is a Partner based in the Chelmsford office, with expertise in handling a range of complex matters involving children and high-net worth clients.

Specialisms

Maya’s main specialisms include financial settlements on divorce or separation, private Children Act proceedings, nuptial agreements, cohabitation and separation agreements and Family Law Act Proceedings, as well as cases concerning Grandparents’ rights and Special Guardianship Orders.

She has also handled a range of complex children and financial matters with international elements and multi-jurisdictional elements.

Maya has worked on multifaceted, high value financial matters involving complex company structures, high value pension assets and property portfolios (both in the UK and abroad) and has experience in Schedule 1 claims and claims with TOLATA elements. In addition, she has dealt with cases involving the variation of financial orders, complex Part 25 applications, as well as LSPO and MPS interim applications.

In cases involving children, Maya has experience in working on cases where there is media interest, both in the Family Court and the High Court and has managed cases involving the requirement for specialist testing by accredited third parties and analysis of expert and hospital reports.

Maya take’s an empathetic approach towards her clients. She aims to guide them through their individual process with as much support as they need, whilst at the same time providing realistic advice, and a constructive way forward.

In her spare time, Maya can be found spending time with her young family and exploring the countryside with her dog.
