Stowe Family Law continues to grow. The firm now operates nine offices across England and anniversaries of openings arrive regularly. This month saw the third anniversary of our Wilmslow office.
The Wilmslow office was the fifth to open its doors back in 2013, and the second in Cheshire. Solicitor Nastassia Burton, formerly with the Hale office, is now Managing Partner, and she has since been joined by fellow solicitor Jennifer Wood. During their time with the firm, both solicitors have contributed articles to this blog on a range of topics.
Nastassia graduated in 2007 with a degree in law and went on to do a legal practice course at the College of Law in Chester. She joined Stowe Family Law as a trainee solicitor and initially worked at the firm’s first Cheshire office in Hale. During her time as a trainee with the firm, she gained experience across all areas of family law, including divorce, cohabitation and arrangements concerning children.
She went on to qualify in September 2010. With a growing expertise, she focuses in particular on the legal, practical and financial consequences of relationship breakdown. Two years later, she was made a Partner at the firm.
“I was thrilled to be made Partner in October 2012.”
As well as writing for the Marilyn Stowe Family Law and Divorce Blog, Nastassia has also had articles published in in a number of local magazines on such topics.
Jennifer, meanwhile, completed her legal practice course at the College of Law in York, earning a distinction, after studying for her law degree at Sheffield Hallam University. She completed her training in 2012 and has since worked across the family law spectrum, and is particularly experienced in matters relating to children.
Over the last three years, the duo have turned their fine legal brains to a wide range of issues, ranging from disputes over multi-million pound companies to urgent multinational child abduction cases.
In addition to helping doing their very best for clients, an important task for any solicitor is forging firm links with the local community. Over the last three years the Wilmslow team have worked hard to do just that. They have formed a close working relationships with other local businesses, including estate agents Martin & Co, asset management firm DBL and Castleton’s Accounts, and played an active role in the Wilmslow business group.
Last year, members of the Wilmslow office joined up with the Hale office team to participate in the Manchester Legal Walk. The 10 km event helped to raise money for the North West Legal Support Trust; a charity which funds law centres and advice services across the North West.
There has been no shortage of lighter moments too. The Stowe Family law Wilmslow office took part in the popular Scarecrow Festival, an annual even in which local firms design and display colourful scarecrows outside their offices. Their 2013 entry was inspired by Marilyn Stowe herself!
