Winchester surrogacy law expert Bethan Carr nominated for national surrogacy award

Solicitor, Bethan Carr from Stowe Family Law in Winchester has been nominated for Surrogacy Professional of the Year in the National Surrogacy Awards 2019.

Now in its second year, the National Surrogacy Awards are to award individuals who have shown best practice and had a positive impact on the people going through the surrogacy journey.

The Professional of the Year category was open to professionals including lawyers, counsellors, CAFCASS officers and the winner will be chosen following a public vote.

Bethan Carr, Stowe Family Law said:

“I am thrilled to have been nominated for Surrogacy Professional of the Year.  I am passionate about surrogacy and supporting people through this, at times, complicated area of family law.

Surrogacy agreements in the UK are largely based on trust, and often leave intended parents feeling worried about a future disagreement or issues.”

Bethan continues:

“I welcomed the Law Commission’s report back in June on proposed surrogacy reform. The legal system in the UK needs to change, and I hope that we will soon see a system which offers more protection and clarity to both intended parents and surrogates.”

Managing Partner Paul Linsdell said:

“Everyone at Stowe Family Law is thrilled that Bethan Carr has been nominated for the Surrogacy Professional Award. This recognition is thoroughly deserved.

Surrogacy is a wonderful way to help people start a new family or add to their existing families. Since launching the service last year, we have seen the team grow from strength to strength and the importance of clear legal advice throughout the process.”

The National Surrogacy Awards are organised by National Surrogacy Week and designed to celebrate best practice and raise awareness of surrogacy in the UK.
