Alice’s areas of specialism are private financial matters arising on divorce/dissolution and private children law matters.
Alice obtained a 2:1 Degree in Law from the University of Birmingham in 2010 and thereafter completed her Legal Practice Course at the College of Law in Birmingham in 2011. She secured a training contract immediately after completing her LPC and began working at HCB Solicitors as a trainee Solicitor.
Alice specialised exclusively in private family law work from qualification and remained working for HCB Solicitors , primarily from the Sutton Coldfield, Lichfield and Solihull offices, progressing from Solicitor, to Associate Solicitor to Senior Associate Solicitor.
Alice joined Stowe’s Birmingham office in May 2023.
Alice’s main areas of specialism are private financial matters arising on divorce/dissolution and private children law matters. She particularly enjoys working on contested financial remedy cases both within and outside the Court process. Alice finds satisfaction in managing cases from the outset all the way to conclusion whether that is through voluntary negotiations, supported mediation, alternative dispute resolution such as arbitration or through the Court system.
Alice has experience in dealing with high net worth and complex financial matters such as those involving business assets, agricultural or inherited assets, trusts and offshore investments. Her experience in private children matters is similarly diverse, including matters where the parties simply need some practical assistance to agree a workable arrangement for their children, to highly contentious cases with complex welfare issues such as substance abuse, domestic abuse and mental health issues, implacable hostility, enforcement proceedings and international relocation.
Alice takes a pragmatic but firm approach to her work, resolving matters for her clients in a fair and efficient way. She tailors her approach to the individual needs of her client, ensuring that they are in a position to make an informed choice as to how to move matters forwards in light of her guidance. Alice finds that this helps her clients to retain control over the process and to focus on the overarching strategy that will achieve the best result for them in the circumstances.
Alice takes a co-operative and dynamic approach to resolving her client’s cases, anticipating key areas of focus early on it proceedings and working together with a team of other experts to ensure that the most robust evidence and arguments can be advanced. This allows a sensible assessment of the merits and risks of her cases, so she can ensure action is applied in the right areas in a proportionate way. Alice’ aim is always to resolve matters as calmly as possible, taking the heat and hostility out of what can be a very emotionally loaded time. However, where matters do become contentious, she takes a robust and firm approach to ensure her client’s interests are fully represented.
Alice is a member of Resolution.
Alice has a busy home life with two young children, and enjoys getting out in the fresh air with them on a walk. She also enjoys watching the Rugby and is a keen Skiier.
