Training & experience

I qualified as a solicitor in 2018. I then trained and qualified at a full-service regional firm before moving to a specialist family law firm in 2021.

Specialisms

I am experienced in all areas of family law including divorce, financial settlements on relationship breakdown (including for cohabiting couples) and private children cases, as well as Family Law Act matters.

I have worked on high value matters where there are complex issues across multiple jurisdictions.

I have also worked on complex children cases including those regarding contact, relocation and fact finding hearings.

Approach

I aim to provide clients with a professional, proactive and efficient service and seek to understand each client’s concerns whilst giving practical and realistic advice.

As no family situation is the same, I believe in the importance of listening to my clients to understand their unique personal needs. I aim to give advice in a clear and empathetic manner.

Memberships

I am a member of Resolution and a committee member for Essex YRes.

I am part of the Lexis Next Gen Consulting Editorial Board.

Legal 500

Legal 500 says: “Beth Duffy is incredible, her advice, empathy and knowledge have been very reassuring in such a stressful time. I have never felt unheard and everything I have raised Beth has answered with reassurance. Beth’s correspondence is always clear and easy to understand.”

Reported cases

Adodo v Tan [2025] EWFC 184 (B) Re-hearing of financial proceedings arising out of a divorce following the husband’s previous successful appeal to the Court of Appeal, reported at [2024] EWCA Civ 1288, in which the Court grappled with the correct division of assets, in the context of the use by the spouses during a long marriage, of non-matrimonial assets.

Outside of work

I enjoy reading and spending time with my family.
