Training & employment

Charlotte studied Law and Criminology at The University of Sheffield (2:1) and then completed the LPC at BPP Law School in Leeds where she obtained a Distinction in 2010. Charlotte trained at a local high street firm and qualified in 2012 into their Family Team. She continued to work there for a further six years until she moved to Blacks Solicitors LLP in 2018. Charlotte earned two promotions whilst at Blacks and became a Senior Associate, before joining Stowe Family Law’s Leeds team in March 2022.

Specialisms

Charlotte deals with the majority of family matters arising from the break down of a relationship, but she has a particular interest in private children law matters; Charlotte is a Resolution Accredited Specialist in Private Children and Private Children Advocacy. Charlotte often represents clients at court directions hearings. She has also advised and represented Grandparents seeking orders to spend time with or have the grandchildren live with them. Charlotte also deals with financial aspects of divorce.

Approach

Charlotte is compassionate and empathetic. She tries to put herself in her client’s shoes and ensures that she fully understands what they want to achieve from their case to make sure the bigger picture is considered. This helps to build a good rapport with her clients and in turn they feel supported, listened to and fully informed of all aspects of their case.

Accreditations and memberships

Charlotte is a Resolution Accredited Specialist in Private Children and Private Children Advocacy. She is a member of the West and North Yorkshire Resolution Committee. Prior to that, Charlotte sat on the Young Resolution Committee.

Outside of work

Charlotte has recently joined a local Netball Team after 6 years off! She loves family walks in the countryside and on the East Coast, where she visits regularly.
