For each of my cases I start by listening to what the client wants to achieve and their concerns to ensure an appropriate strategy is put in place. My expertise lies in complex children matters often with social services involvement. I have also advised on domestic abuse cases and attended hearings up to High Court Judge level.

Specialisms

Hannah is based in the firm’s Leeds family solicitors office and has advised and represented clients in private law children’s law, public law children matters and matters involving domestic abuse. She has also advised clients regarding divorce without finances and has assisted on cases where there are finances involved.

Hannah has experience working on complex children’s matters which have involved making arrangements for children when parents have been unable to come to an agreement outside of the Courtroom. She has also assisted parents in the steps before attending Court including corresponding to try to come to an agreement about contact and advising clients on the necessary steps for mediation should it be required. The cases that she has dealt with have often included elements of parental domestic abuse, violence towards children, allegations of sexual abuse and social worker involvement.

Hannah has also acted for vulnerable people who have often been victims of domestic abuse representing them before and during court proceedings, ensuring that they are signposted to other agencies who may be able to offer support.

She has experience of attending and advocating for clients at Court, this has resulted in her attending before not only Magistrates but District Judges, Circuit Judges and High Court Judges on often complex hearings.

Training & employment experience

Hannah was educated at Notredame Sixth Form College and Leeds Beckett University where she studied law moving on to undertake her LPC at BPP Law School. Hannah has worked in family law for the last 6 years starting as a legal assistant and then completing her training contract in March 2018 at an extremely busy city centre legal aid firm.

Her approach is to listen to the client and what they hope to achieve and any concerns that they have whilst ensuring that they are correctly advised and that a realistic approach is put in place.

Outside of work

Outside of work Hannah enjoys sports, especially running and cycling, taking her a dog for a walk and travelling. She also enjoys dining out and finding new places to eat in and around Leeds.
