Shahana is a solicitor based in Stowe’s Chelmsford office.
Shahana has gained extensive experience in all areas of family law including divorce, private children, matrimonial finances and protective injunction matters. She is able to represent clients in children and financial matters both within and outside of a court setting.
Shahana adopts an empathetic, sensitive and detail orientated approach to her cases and clients. Shahana’s approach is friendly, but firm when neccesary. It is of upmost importance to her that she achieves the best outcome for her clients whilst ensuring that their matter is dealt with as quickly and as cost effectively as possible.
Shahana completed her LLB Hons at City, University of London specialising in Family and Child Law and graduated in 2019. She then went to complete an LPC (Postgraduate Diploma in Legal Practice) and LLM (Masters) at the University of Law (London Campus), during which Shahana chose to specialise in Family and Child Law. Once Shahana completed her studies, she joined a London based family law firm and worked as a Family and Childcare paralegal before securing her training contract and qualifying as a Solicitor in July 2023. She has since been working as a Family and Childcare Solicitor at a Legal 500 firm specialising in both private and public family law.
Shahana has extensive experience in a wide range of family law matters including but not limited to:
– Private Children Applications (s8 application for Child Arrangements, Specific Issue and/or Prohibited Steps)
– Parental Responsibility Orders
– Grandparent’s Rights and Applications
– Orders by Consent
– Injunctions (non-molestation and occupation orders)
– Financial Remedy (both within and outside a court setting)
– Care Proceedings
Shahana also has extensive experience in representing clients in court, making submissions, negotiating and advocating on behalf of clients during court hearings. This includes successfully representing clients in hearings such as First Hearing Dispute Resolution Appointments, Pre Trial Reviews, Direction Hearings, First Appointments, Dispute Resolution Hearings and Non-Molestation/Occupation Order Hearings. She has also recently represented a client in a show-cause hearing for an ancillary relief matter. Shahana has been trained in Higher Rights of Audience (Civil).
Shahana is fluent in Tamil.
Shahana is a member of the Association of British Tamil Lawyers.
Shahana enjoys baking, going on long walks and spending time with her friends and family.
