Suzanne El-Safty

Solicitor, Birmingham

Suzanne is a Solicitor based in Stowe’s Birmingham office.

Training and experience

Suzanne embarked on her career in London, joining an American investment bank, where she specialised in fixed income derivatives, with a focus on interest rate derivatives. She managed a client base in Europe and the Middle East, achieving the position of Vice President. Later, Suzanne transitioned to Geneva, Switzerland, assuming the role of Fixed Income Portfolio Manager.

After six years in the financial markets, Suzanne made a career shift to law. She worked as a legal assistant for two years at a boutique family law firm in Worcestershire. In September 2018, Suzanne returned to university to pursue the Graduate Diploma in Law and the Legal Practice Course at BPP University, completing both with Distinction and securing the highest marks for the Legal Practice Course.

Following the completion of her training contract at a large national law firm in September 2022, Suzanne qualified as a family solicitor with the firm. In December 2022, she transitioned to a Tier 1 regional firm, where she primarily handled highly contentious and complex high net worth financial remedy cases, often involving elements of domestic abuse.

Beyond her legal qualifications, Suzanne holds a first-class undergraduate degree in Management Studies with French from the University of Nottingham and a Master’s degree in Gender from the London School of Economics.

Suzanne joined Stowe’s Birmingham office in February 2024.

She possesses the ability to stand up for her clients when necessary and offers practical and robust advice. Suzanne ensures her clients are well-informed through regular updates, responding promptly to their questions and concerns, acknowledging the challenges inherent in the legal process. She is consistently focused on finding the most cost-effective approach to achieve optimal outcomes for her clients.

Outside of work

Suzanne maintains a daily yoga practice, dedicating each morning to yoga before starting her workday. This routine serves as a grounding mechanism, enabling her to remain calm and focused, irrespective of the day’s challenges. Suzanne is committed to enhancing her yoga expertise and frequently travels to Mysore, India, to study under her teacher, Sharath Jois, the head of the Ashtanga Yoga lineage.

On weekends, Suzanne extends her passion for yoga by teaching in Birmingham city centre. Having started teaching in her spare time since 2009, she has become one of the few authorised Ashtanga Yoga teachers in the UK, earning her teacher’s authorisation in 2011.
