Brad and Angelina agree to private settlement

Divorce|January 11th 2017

High profile Hollywood actors Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie have agreed to settle the remainder of their divorce in private.

Their split became public last year in a barrage of negative publicity, but the former power couple have now agreed to negotiate an end to their relationship behind closed doors with a “private judge”, according to a joint statement. They will be working to “reunify” the family, they claimed, in an apparent reference to the disputed custody of their six children.

The formally-worded statement declared:

“The parties and their counsel have signed agreements to preserve the privacy rights of their children and family by keeping all court documents confidential and engaging a private judge to make any necessary legal decisions and to facilitate the expeditious resolution of any remaining issues.”

Their statement represents the first joint comment on the divorce issued by the estranged pair.
