The Stowe Family Law wills & probate team in Harrogate has raised more than £1,000 for Saint Michael’s Hospice by writing free wills for local people in return for a donation to the hospice.
The team has offered the initiative for several years as part of the national campaign: Make a Will month which encourages people to make or update an existing will.
Wendy Scarr, Senior Solicitor at Stowe Family Law in Harrogate said:
“It’s estimated that approximately 33 million people in the UK do not have a will yet writing one is one of the most important things you can do for your family. It legally protects your partner, children and assets and spells out how you want things handled after you have passed away.”
In recognition of the law firm’s efforts, Wendy, Wills & Probate expert and Alexandra Padovano, Trainee Solicitor were presented with a certificate from Beth Crewe on behalf of Saint Michael’s Hospice.
