Elona Smith

Training and experience

Elona graduated from the University of East London in 2017 and went onto complete the Legal Practice Course at the University of Law in London in 2020. She began her legal career as a paralegal in central London, where she gained valuable experience across a broad range of family law matters before securing a training contract in the same firm.

Elona qualified as a solicitor in October 2023 and joined Stowe’s Brighton office in November 2023.

Elona specialises in all aspects of private family law, with particular expertise in financial matters arising from divorce and private children matters. Elona has significant experience in children matters, including but not limited to child arrangements, specific issue orders and prohibited step applications. She also regularly assists clients with injunction applications, including Non-Molestation and Occupation Orders.

She represents clients at all stages of court proceedings and is equally experienced in negotiating settlements outside of court through non-court dispute resolution, always aiming to secure pragmatic, constructive, and cost-effective outcomes.

Elona is committed to guiding clients through what are often challenging and emotional circumstances with clarity, sensitivity, and practical advice.

Outside of work

Outside of her professional life, Elona enjoys maintaining an active lifestyle through regular running and gym sessions and has a strong appreciation for the outdoors. She particularly values spending quality time with her dog (Rhiley the Labrador), partner, family, and friends.

Elona also has a passion for travel and enjoys exploring new destinations whenever she has the opportunity.
