Emily has experience advising clients in all aspects of divorce, financial matters and cohabitation disputes. In addition, Emily has, on occasion, assisted individuals with the drafting and implementation of pre/post nuptial agreements. In particular, however, Emily has a keen interest and wealth of experience advising and assisting parents and other individuals in relation to private children matters.
Emily takes an empathetic and thorough approach in all matters, ensuring that both client and solicitor are always on the same page in relation to the options available and the overall objectives. Emily understands that some matters can be delicate and difficult to talk about and it is her relatable approach that many clients find comforting when confronting some of life’s biggest challenges.
Emily completed an undergraduate degree in Political Science at Dalhousie University in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada before ultimately completing her law degree at Oxford Brookes University in 2016. Since this time, Emily has spent 4 years at high street law firm where she trained and qualified, specialising in family matters. Emily joined Stowe Family Law’s Reading office in November 2021 and also now supports the Oxford office.
Outside of work Emily enjoys walking in the countryside with her Basset Hound Willow and spending time with her family and friends. In her younger years Emily was a competitive alpine ski racer so she is always looking for an excuse to get to a snowy destination to adventure on the slopes.
