Imrana is a senior associate in our Stamford office, with a particular interest in private law children matters.
Imrana deals with majority of matters arising from breakdown of marriage but has a particular interest in private law children matters. Imrana has extensive experience dealing with complex matters, which usually feature domestic abuse as well as cases with an international element.
Imrana often advocates for clients at court hearings. She has also acted for grandparents either seeking to spend time with the grandchildren or to live with them. Imrana also specialises in divorce and financial matters.
Imrana is fluent in Urdu and Punjabi.
Imrana is compassionate and empathetic, supporting clients in an exceptionally difficult time in their lives. She is able to put clients at ease with her friendly manner, building a good rapport with them and earning their trust.
Imrana has a desire to help people in vulnerable positions, which is why she specialised in Family Law. In her previous role, she developed very close connections with domestic violence support groups and refuges locally. Imrana finds the experience of working with vulnerable people and seeing their transition from the start to the end of the case immensely rewarding.
As well as handling cases sensitively, Imrana is robust and pragmatic in her approach. She tries to look at the bigger picture when advising clients and managing their expectations. Most of her work comes from recommendations from previous clients and professional referrals.
Imrana studied Law at the Nottingham Trent University, graduating in 2002. She then achieved a Commendation in the Legal Practice Course which she completed in the College of Law in London.
Imrana has trained and worked exclusively in Family Law since qualifying as a Solicitor in 2005, for firms locally as well as Legal 500 practices.
Imrana is an accredited Family Panel member of the Law Society’s Family Law Advanced, specialising in private law children and domestic abuse.
She is also a member of Resolution, which promotes a constructive and non-confrontational approach.
Imrana is listed as a Leading Lawyer by Wiselaw.
Imrana is family oriented and enjoys spending time with family members and friends, going out for meals, cinema or theatre. Imrana also loves travelling and exploring other foods and cultures.
