Sara Morton

Training & employment

Sara studied law, part time, at the University of Central England, before completing her Legal Practice Course at the College of Law, Birmingham. Sara qualified as a solicitor in 2006 and has specialised in family law since. Sara was a Partner, for a number years, in a well established, Legal 500 law firm in the West Midlands/Shropshire and spent a short time heading up a Family Team in a local firm before moving to Stowe in May 2022. Sara works out of our Birmingham and Leamington Spa offices.

Specialisms

Sara specialises in Financial issues arising on the breakdown of relationships (whether they are married couples, cohabiting or in a Civil Partnership) and children matters. Sara has experience of dealing with high net worth cases, involving business assets; property portfolios and pensions and regularly instructs experts including Actuaries and Accountants. She advises on all aspects in relation to children, having been involved in complex children matters involving the appointment of a Guardian, psychologists and other experts. Sara has also dealt with a number of cases involving removal of a child from the jurisdiction and specific issue orders regarding schooling.

Sara prides herself on offering a professional yet personal approach focussing on individual needs and goals, taking into account clients’ specific circumstances. She offers clear, realistic advice and seeks to help clients through what can be a very difficult time with an efficient quality service.

Outside of work

Away from Family Law, Sara enjoys running – she has recently run a half marathon and has previously run the London Marathon. Sara likes spending time with her young family and friends, baking and being outdoors.
