Louise Forsyth

Specialisms

Louise has specialised in family law throughout her career and has advised on a full range of family law matters arising from the breakdown of a relationship between married couples, civil partners and unmarried couples including divorce, separation, financial and children issues.

Louise has extensive experience in contested children matters involving complex Child Arrangement disputes, specific issue applications, internal relocation and leave to remove applications as well as cases with a public law element often involving domestic violence or child abuse. Louise is also very experienced in divorce and financial remedy disputes often involving mid to high-net-worth individuals and complicated wealth structures. She has wide experience in drafting pre and postnuptial agreements.

Louise is a member of Resolution.

Training & employment

Louise studied law at the University of Leeds and completed her Legal Practice Course at the College of Law, Bloomsbury. Louise has specialised exclusively in family law ever since, practising in leading law firms in London and Hong Kong. Louise is dual qualified having qualified as a solicitor in England and Wales in 2015 and Hong Kong in 2018.

Louise joined Stowe Family Law’s Tunbridge Wells office as a Senior Associate in March 2021.

Approach

Louise seeks to resolve matters in a constructive and non-confrontational manner, focusing on the specific needs of each client and the best interests of any children. Louise prides herself on being friendly and approachable and has a kind and compassionate approach to each of her clients. Louise strives to settle each case outside of the court arena where possible but is prepared to robustly litigate within the court process when necessary.

Outside of work

Outside of work, Louise enjoys running, cycling, skiing, long country walks, holidays and spending time with family and friends.
