Rachel has been with the firm for over 17 years and is Regional Director for the Midlands and North. Known for her caring and compassionate approach, she builds an excellent rapport with clients, leaving them feeling confident and reassured as she guides them to the right outcome for them.
Rachel specialises in all aspects of family law but has particular expertise in dealing with divorce finances after a marriage breakdown.
Rachel’s experience in financial cases includes cases involving substantial income and capital, both in this country and abroad, as well as complex financial, business, and trust structures.
In addition to financial cases, Rachel also has extensive experience at dealing with child law issues and child arrangements following a relationship breakdown.
Rachel Roberts studied Law at The University of Northumbria in Newcastle, before joining the firm as a trainee in 2002. She qualified in 2004 and has been an integral part of the team since then.
Rachel now manages our Midlands and Northern Region.
Rachel is known for her caring and compassionate approach to clients, and seeking the best possible outcome for them. Rachel strives to achieve a settlement in a conciliatory and commercial fashion wherever possible but is equally at home dealing with litigation. Much of Rachel’s work comes through personal recommendations from previous clients and contacts.
Rachel is a member of Resolution and is a Resolution accredited specialist for complex financial remedies and private children.
Rachel is also an ambassador for Women in the Law, a non-profit women’s networking organisation designed to encourage, inspire and support the next generation of lawyers and women in business.
Rachel is recognised as a recommended Lawyer in The Legal 500 UK, 2026.

Outside of work, Rachel is married and has young twins who keep her busy! She loves most forms of exercise and being outdoors. Rachel is also a keen cook and baker, and regularly tests out her cakes on the other members of the Leeds office!
