Specialisms

Rachel specialises in all aspects of family law but has particular expertise in dealing with the financial aspects of a marriage breakdown, as well as dealing with civil partnership disputes and separating cohabiting couples.

Rachel’s experience in financial cases includes cases involving substantial income and capital, both in this country and abroad, as well as complex financial, business, and trust structures.

In addition to financial cases, Rachel also has extensive experience at dealing with children issues and the arrangements following a relationship breakdown.

Training & employment experience

Rachel Roberts studied Law at The University of Northumbria in Newcastle, before joining the firm. She qualified in 2004 and has been an integral part of the team since then.

Approach

Rachel is known for her caring and compassionate approach to clients, and seeking the best possible outcome for them. Rachel strives to achieve a settlement in a conciliatory and commercial fashion wherever possible but is equally at home dealing with litigation. Much of Rachel’s work comes through personal recommendations from previous clients and contacts.

Outside of work

Outside of work, Rachel is married and has young twins who keep her busy! She loves most forms of exercise and being outdoors. Rachel is also a keen cook and baker, and regularly tests out her cakes on the other members of the Leeds office!
