Popular Korean film star Lim Chang-Jung has filed for divorce from his wife of seven years.
The 39 year-old actor, who has appeared in 30 films over a 20 year career, submitted a divorce mediation form to the Seoul family court earlier this week and these papers have now been forwarded to wife Kim Hyun-joo.
An unnamed source told Korean entertainment site enewsworld:
“It is true that Lim Chang Jung applied for divorce mediation with his wife Ms. Kim, the former professional golfer. Misunderstandings arose between the two when [Lim Chang Jung] often left home on movie shoots, and led to this situation.”
Lim Chang-Jung no longer socialises with his wife, the source added, and has even removed photos of her from Kakao Story – a Korean social networking service.
The pair were married in 2006 and have three children. Kim Hyun-joo gave up professional golfing after the marriage.
Lim Chang-Jung is also a singer and has recorded 11 albums.
