The long-running divorce battle between reality TV star Kim Kardashian and professional basketball player Kris Humphries may be nearing a settlement, according to celebrity site TMZ.
Kardashian and Humphries are both due in court tomorrow (Friday 19 April) for a ‘settlement conference’, the site claims, citing sources which claim he may now be willing to compromise on his demands for an annulment.
When the 32 year-old TV personality filed for divorce just 72 days after the couple’s marriage in 2011, Humphries refused to cooperate and has instead been pressing for an annulment on the grounds of ‘fraud’.
But his position has been weakened by the failure of any evidence of fraud to emerge during the 18 month stand-off, TMZ claims. And with a prenuptial agreement reportedly in place, the sportsman would be unlikely to win financial damages from his estranged wife even if he was successful at a trial.
A full trial is also likely to bring both side’s costs to around $500,000 according to the report.
Humphries plays in the power forward position for the Brooklyn Nets basketball team.
