German supermodel Heidi Klum has begun removing a large tattoo from her right arm which commemorated a renewal of her marriage vows to ex-husband Seal.
Klum filed for divorce the English singer and musician in April last year, after seven years together. The couple had previously renewed their marriage vows in annual ceremonies to which friends and family were invited. In 2008, Klum added the tattoo – a stylised representation of her husband’s name, plus four stars to represent her children.
Later the same year, she explained the tattoo to People magazine:
“My husband and I always get married every year. It was our fourth wedding, and we wanted to have our names tattooed together. So it’s my husband’s name and our three children, their initials, in the stars.”
However, the section showing Seal’s name has now begun to fade. An unnamed source told the magazine that the model had “been through a few treatments.”
The source added. “The stars with her children’s initials will stay intact.”
