Stowe guests: The Bristol break-up club

At Stowe Family Law, we regularly partner with Claire Black, one of the UK’s first accredited specialist Divorce Coaches, a former lawyer, and Master NLP Practitioner on the blog.

This September this partnership will continue with the launch of The Bristol Break-up Club: a series of ongoing workshops that offer advice to anyone going through a divorce or separation.

Held at the Stowe Family Law office at Queen Square in Bristol, the first Bristol Break-up Club will be held on Wednesday 25 September 2019, with a lunchtime session  from 12.30pm to 2pm and an early evening session from 5.30pm – 7pm. The sessions will run monthly until July 2020.

On the blog, Jemma Slavin, Managing Partner at the Stowe Bristol office explains more:

“Divorcing or separating is challenging and the emotions and worries often overwhelming.

My experience has taught me that having a strong support network is so important to help people manage those emotions and move forward in a positive way.

Relatives and friends are very well-meaning but professional advice gives you tried and tested tips and techniques that will make a real difference to how you approach your response to divorce.

We devised The Bristol Break-up Club to help people to change their way of thinking and take control of their divorce and life beyond it.”

Claire explains

“When I was going through my own divorce 11 years ago, my support network of friends was a lifeline.  Different people offered shoulders to cry on, cups of tea, hugs and listening ears.

Divorce and break-up coaching did not exist at the time, and there were no groups like The Bristol Break-up Club to help me.  A decade on and I am delighted and proud to be able to help others with a service that I wish had existed then.

The Bristol Break-up Club provides an opportunity to meet other people who are going through their own break-ups, to offer mutual support and friendship.  The club is a place to look forward positively, get clarity on things that worry or scare you and take back power over your life.

Together, we will create a toolkit of strategies and techniques so that you can handle the emotional roller-coaster of separation with strength and confidence and, when you are ready, create a new and vibrant life that is exciting to live.“

You can find out more about The Bristol Break-up Club and purchase tickets here.

The blog team at Stowe is a group of writers based across our family law offices who share their advice on the wellbeing and emotional aspects of divorce or separation from personal experience. As well as pieces from our family law solicitors, guest contributors also regularly contribute to share their knowledge.
