Stowe Family Law new appointments enable firm’s St Albans team to help more clients.

New appointments at St Albans family law firm

Stowe Family Law has expanded its legal team in St Albans to support an increase in the number and complexity of new enquiries the firm is seeing due to Covid-19.

Since the global pandemic struck back in March last year, enquiries into the St Albans office have increased by 88%*, with a 166%** increase reported across Greater London.

A national poll commissioned by the firm also revealed that nearly a quarter of people living in Greater London and the East of England said Covid- 19 had a negative impact on their relationship. Of those relationships that ended, the most common reason cited was financial pressures (28%), spending too much time together and too many arguments (20%), and 13% due to lack of communication.

Recently appointed Senior Solicitor Samantha Farndale joined the firm in March, bringing nearly eight years of family law experience. She is joined by Solicitor Gemma Windle, who began her career in family law five years ago.

Joining from Slater & Gordon Lawyers Samantha supports clients on a broad range of family law work, including divorce, cohabitation, financial settlements and complex children disputes. She has extensive experience in dealing with the public sector and final salary pension schemes.

Gemma joins us from Taylor Walton and has a wealth of experience in a broad range of issues, including divorce, financial settlements and cohabitation disputes. She specialises in resolving family disputes regarding children.

Claire McParland, the Managing Partner of Stowe in St Albans, said:

“As the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic continues, we have seen a sharp rise in enquiries. Recruiting Samantha and Gemma allows us to maintain the highest support levels for our clients throughout the pandemic and beyond.

With their arrival, we are now a seven-strong team working across Hertfordshire, and I am delighted to welcome them both to the firm. Their combined experience in family law and knowledge will complement our existing offering to clients.”

Claire continues:

“As part of the country’s largest specialist family law firm, we can offer people in St Albans access to an unrivalled nationwide network of knowledge and experience on their doorstep.”

*Statistics relate to a comparison of recorded enquiries received to the St Albans office between February – April 2020 to 2021. ** compared recorded enquiries for Stowe Greater London offices in the same period.
