Stowe Family Law strengthens Nottingham team as the impact of Covid-19 on relationships increases.

Nottingham family law firm strengthens team

Stowe Family Law (Stowe) has strengthened its leadership team in Nottingham to support an increase in the number and complexity of new enquiries the firm is seeing due to Covid-19.

Since the global pandemic struck back in March last year, enquiries into the Nottingham office have increased by 78%.*

A recent survey commissioned by Stowe also revealed that 60% of the people surveyed from the Midlands who had separated from their partner in the last year had not had tensions in their relationship before the pandemic.

The most common reasons for couples separating being spending too much time together (26%), lack of communication (26%) and 18% due to financial difficulties.

Joining the Nottingham team is Partner Holly Lamb, who previously worked in the firm’s London and Tunbridge Wells offices before deciding to return to her home city.

Holly joins Senior Family Lawyer Beth Sheridan and Legal Assistant Lisa Brasier, who both live in Nottingham and bring a wealth of local knowledge and professional connections.

Having practised family law in London since 2009, Holly has experience supporting clients on all types of cases, including divorce,  financial settlements and child law.  She also heads up the firm’s international family law team and frequently represents clients across the world.

Jemma Slavin, Stowe’s Regional Director for the Midlands, said:

“As the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic continues, we have seen a sharp rise in enquiries across the Midlands and particularly in the Nottingham area. Bringing in Holly at Partner level allows us to maintain the highest support levels for our clients throughout the pandemic and beyond.

Her years of experience working in London and specialist knowledge of international family law will complement our existing offering to clients.”

Jemma continues:

“As part of the country’s largest specialist family law firm, we can also offer people in Nottingham access to an unrivalled nationwide network of knowledge and experience on their doorstep.”

*Statistics relate to a comparison of recorded enquiries received to the Nottingham office between January – March 2020 to January – March 2021.
