Reading family law firm grows
Stowe Family Law (Stowe) – the UK’s largest specialist family law firm – has grown its team in Reading with the appointment of two new Solicitors and a Legal Assistant.
With the firm’s presence in the town going from strength to strength, the new team will help clients across Reading and the Thames Valley access some of the country’s top family lawyers at a time when divorce enquiries are rising significantly due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
Since the global pandemic struck back in March last year, enquiries into the Reading office have increased by 110%* compared to a national rise of 83%.**
Joining the Reading team is Partner, Amanda Phillips-Wylds who previously worked at Herrington Carmichael and Senior Solicitor, Gemma Davison who joins from Spratt Endicott and Legal Assistant Jake Channing.
Amanda Phillips-Wylds is a highly experienced family lawyer and qualified family mediator. She supports clients with a wide range of family law matters with particular expertise in resolving financial disputes involving complex issues such as fraud, overseas assets, business assets and interveners. She also handles disputes regarding arrangements for children and cases involving cohabitees.
Gemma Davison has specialised in family law since starting her career twelve years ago. A trained family mediator and collaborative law practitioner, she specialises in helping clients resolve financial issues and arrangements for children after separation with a non-conflict approach, avoiding lengthy and stressful court proceedings.
As practising family mediators, Amanda and Gemma are passionate about meditation to help resolve family breakdowns. With recent research by Stowe revealing a 20% decrease in the number of cases predicted to go to court, dropping 20% in just three years, they join an ever-growing team of mediators at the firm.
Andrew Miller, Stowe’s Regional Director for London & South East, said:
“We are seeing a significant increase in divorce enquiries following the pressures that Covid-19 and the lockdowns have had on families. We are delighted to have added Amanda and Gemma to the Stowe team. Their expertise allows us to maintain the highest support levels for our clients throughout the pandemic and beyond.
With their arrival, we now have a five-strong team working based in Reading, and I am happy to welcome them both to the firm. Their in-depth experience in family law and mediation will help our clients to achieve their desired outcomes.”
