Stowe Family Law recruits a new Director of Forensic Accounting

We have recently appointed Sue Nightingale as Director of Forensic Accounting to drive continued growth of our forensic accounting service.

Sue has specialised in forensic accounting for 15 years and has worked on a number of large, complex and often high-profile cases for both UK and international clients.  In the context of divorce, she frequently advises high-net-worth individuals with multiple assets including businesses, trusts and properties.

Sue said:

“I am really excited to be joining Stowe Family Law to lead and grow the forensic accounting team. I look forward to working hand-in-hand with the firm’s family lawyers to deliver outstanding client care.

Getting to grips with complex financial and business assets in a divorce case can seem like a mountain to climb especially when it seems that financial disclosure is incomplete or lacking in transparency. Clients are often highly suspicious that their spouse/partner is hiding their assets or downplaying the value of their business interests.”

Sue continues:

“Having access to a forensic accounting expert in-house is invaluable in helping put a client’s mind at rest early on in a case. Many of my family lawyer contacts wish they had the benefit of forensic accounting advice on tap.”

Before joining Stowe Family Law, Sue built a distinguished career first in the forensic practice of a Big Four accountancy firm in London and then in a Surrey-based accounting firm where she advised entrepreneurs and SME business owners, particularly in the context of divorce proceedings.

Charles Hartwell, CEO at Stowe Family Law said:

“Sue’s diverse skill set, and extensive experience will be a valuable addition to our already strong forensic accounting team. Sue is a recognised expert when it comes to understanding complex financial information relating to multiple assets often involving complex corporate and/or trust structures. Her expertise, combined with our specialist family lawyers will help to make sure any discrepancies in financial disclosure are identified early and properly investigated.”

Sue’s appointment marks our continued growth of Stowe Family Law. Based in London and Esher, Sue will work with a national remit across all of our offices.
