Winchester family law firm expands team to help more clients

Winchester family law firm expands

Stowe Family Law (Stowe) has expanded its legal team in Winchester  to support an increase in the number and complexity of new enquiries the firm is seeing due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

Since the global public health disaster struck back in March last year, enquiries into the Winchester office have increased by 88%. Research looking into the motivations behind this increase conducted by the firm revealed nearly a quarter of people living in the South East of England said Covid-19 had a negative impact on their relationship. Of those relationships that ended, 71% of respondents said they did not have any concerns or tension before the pandemic.

Recently appointed Partner Vicki Rawlins, who will head up the Winchester office,  brings over seventeen years of family law experience. She is joined by Senior Family Lawyer Liza Gatrell, who began her career in family law thirteen years ago.

Joining from Irwin Mitchell Vicki supports clients on a broad range of family law work, including divorce, cohabitation, financial settlements and complex children disputes. She is a Resolution accredited specialist in Private Child Law and Domestic Abuse and a  trained mediator.

Liza joins us from Biscoes and has a wealth of experience in a broad range of issues, including divorce, financial settlements, children proceedings and cohabitation disputes. She is an expert in the intricacies of armed forces pensions and supports people through the legal processes of surrogacy.

Emma Newman, Managing Partner  at  Stowe, said:

“As the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic continues, we have seen a sharp rise in enquiries. Recruiting Vikki and Liza allows us to maintain the highest support levels for our clients throughout the pandemic and beyond.

I am delighted to welcome them both to the firm. Their combined experience in family law and knowledge will complement our existing offering to clients.”

Partner at Stowe,  Vicki Rawlins said:

“I am delighted to head up the Stowe office in Winchester along with the new office in Bournemouth. As part of the country’s largest specialist family law firm, we can offer people who live locally access to an unrivaled nationwide network of knowledge and experience on their doorstep.”
