Reality star Porsha Williams denies faking divorce

Reality TV star  Porsha Williams has denied claims that her recent separation from US football player Kordell Stewart was a publicity stunt to boost ratings for the  The Real Housewives of Atlanta.

According to reports, the 30 year-old singer only discovered that Stewart had filed for divorce when she saw the news online earlier this year. But rumours circulated that the story had in fact been contrived to boost her rankings on the show.

However, a representative for Williams has firmly denied this, telling TMZ that the claims were “absolutely ridiculous”.

“Given everything this abrupt divorce filing has put her through in the public, [Porsha] would never bring something like this on herself, especially with them having a child in the house. [Porsha] wishes things could have been different [with Kordell] but that simply is not possible.”

Porsha Stewart married the former quarterback in 2011. She is reported to still share a house with his child from a previous relationship. Her attorney told TMZ  that the former couple were working to keep their separation as amicable as possible.
