Our family law and divorce expertise in Beverley

  • How much does divorce cost?

The cost of a divorce will depend on the circumstances of your case. After discussing your situation with your solicitor, they will be able to provide an initial estimate of the likely fees. Our How much does divorce cost? guide offers further detail, including what to expect if financial matters or child arrangements form part of the process. Further information can also be found in our pricing guide. For couples who are divorcing amicably with no financial, property, or child arrangement issues to resolve, we also provide a fixed-fee divorce package.

  • Which family court will I attend if I’m based in Beverley?

Most divorce and financial remedy proceedings for clients in Beverley are heard at Kingston upon Hull Combined Court Centre on Lowgate (HU1 2EZ), while some children and domestic abuse proceedings may be listed at Beverley Magistrates Court at the Courthouse on Champney Road (HU17 9EJ). Our solicitors will ensure you are fully prepared and supported throughout the process, whichever court is handling your case.

  • Where is Kingston upon Hull Family Court and how do I get there?

Kingston upon Hull Combined Court Centre is located on Lowgate in Hull city centre, close to Hull Minster, the Museum Quarter and Queen Victoria Square. It is around a 10–15 minute walk from Hull Paragon Interchange via Ferensway and Whitefriargate towards Lowgate, passing St Stephen’s Shopping Centre and Hull City Hall.

From our Beverley office at 22 Trinity Lane (HU17 0DY), the court is approximately a 20–30 minute drive via the A1035 and A1079 into Hull city centre, or a direct train journey from Beverley Station to Hull followed by a short walk. Nearby cafés include Starbucks in St Stephen’s, Costa Coffee on Whitefriargate and independent favourite Thieving Harry’s on Humber Street if you arrive early.

If driving, parking is available at Lowgate Car Park, Princes Quay Car Park and St Stephen’s Shopping Centre car park, all within walking distance of the court.
