Stowe Family Law are proud supporters of York Foodbank, who provide three days’ nutritionally balanced emergency food and support to local people who are referred to them in crisis. They are part of a nationwide network of foodbanks, supported by The Trussell Trust, working to combat poverty and hunger across the UK.
We partnered with FareShare Yorkshire to help with the higher fuel costs during the pandemic. They are a community of independent franchised charities, all fighting the same issues: hunger, food insecurity issues and food waste.
We are proud to support Explore, helping them buy a new interactive donation box to encourage people to donate by understanding more about the important work they do. Explore has a strong community focus – helping people get online, providing fantastic family events and giving people access to a massive range of fabulous books.
The Friends of York Walls is a voluntary non-profit making group. They aim to help promote and develop York’s historic defences (including the City Walls, St Mary’s Abbey’s medieval boundary walls, Clifford’s Tower and the Castle’s old walls) for the benefit of local residents and visitors. York Walls organise and undertake practical work and organise public events in co-operation with the City of York Council and other like-minded groups or individuals.
The Stowe Family Law team in York are delighted to support York Theatre Royal, one of the oldest theatres in the UK and an integral part of the York community. 2020 was an incredibly tough year for the charity, which is why they require donations now more than ever, to ensure their 275-year existence continues.
York Civic Trust is a not-for-profit membership organisation dedicated to protecting and enhancing York’s heritage, including our museum, Fairfax House. As such, neither the Trust nor the museum receives any public funding and so relies upon the generosity of donations and income generated through museum visitor admissions, events, and our Membership.
Stowe Family Law are proud to support York Against Cancer, an independent charity who have had a hugely positive impact on the local community over the last three decades.
We are very proud to be supporting York Learning with a donation towards their wonderful 16-18 Study Programme. It aims to build on young people’s personal and academic skills, supporting the transition to further education, training or work. The programme benefits young people who are not yet ready to access mainstream post 16 study and those who learn more effectively in a small group setting. This year has been particularly challenging for our young people, many of whom have suffered significantly with their mental health.
We collaborated with the University of York to help students understand client work and award work experience to the highest achieving student. Work experience at Stowe Family Law is intended to help students to understand the skillset and mindset of the successful family lawyer, regularly advising people at one of the most emotional and traumatic times of their lives.
