Specialisms

She has advised and represented clients in the process of divorce and separation (including non-married couples), as well as helping people set up pre-nuptial agreements.

Jennifer mainly, but not exclusively, acts for clients with significant income and capital. Her clients’ cases often require an understanding of business structures, tax issues, complex remuneration packages and grappling with arguments about beneficial interests.

Jennifer is also well versed in matters involving international issues, such work following on from her being a prize winner in the International Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers (European Chapter) Annual Award for Young Family Lawyers for 2013/14.

Jennifer’s work frequently involves advising clients about the children aspects of their cases – whether that is because parents have not been able to agree arrangements, or where there are serious concerns about welfare and harm.

Training & employment experience

Jennifer studied at Birmingham University, obtaining BSc (Hons) before studying law at the College of Law. She trained at an established general practice firm in the home counties and took up a position as a family law solicitor in Oxford after she qualified in early 2009.

Jennifer has been working in specialist, family law only practices since 2010. Jennifer achieved full Resolution (First for Family Law) accreditation in September 2014.

Approach

Family law can be stressful and upsetting, so Jennifer takes time to ensure that her clients feel supported, listened to, and represented to the hilt. Jennifer is compassionate and understanding. Her clients benefit from her logical and methodical style, the result of her scientific background. This approach is ideally suited to deal with family law matters.

Barristers working with her have said that she has the enviable skill of being able to firmly pursue her clients’ cases whilst avoiding costly litigation by correspondence.

Additionally, Jennifer keeps her eye firmly on costs and proportionality in all cases.

Outside of work

Jennifer lives in Kings Worthy, Winchester, with her young family. Outside of work, as and when time allows, she enjoys sampling the various culinary delights that Winchester has to offer!
