She particularly enjoys working on financial cases involving trusts and non-marital assets, as well as leave to remove children cases. Shanika has advised and represented clients who are in the process of divorce and has also helped those who have not been married. Her experience includes cases involving high income and capital, including assets abroad and business structures. She has a particular interest in domestic abuse cases and child law work, including reaching an agreement in relation to where children will live and how much time they will spend with the non-resident parent. Charlotte Newman is a Partner at our Leeds office.
Charlotte completed her LPC in 2014 and received distinctions in all subjects. In 2013, she graduated from Leeds University with a first class honour degree in law. During her final year of university, she was diagnosed with cancer. Since being in remission, she was appointed as an ambassador for the Teenage Cancer Trust. As the public face of the Trust, she was presented with several great opportunities, one of which was speaking to an audience of over 5000 per night at the Royal Albert Hall in London. Sarah has advised and represented clients on children’s matters – both public and private, matters involving domestic abuse and occupation of property, divorce, dissolution of civil partnerships, division of the matrimonial finances, division of finances for unmarried partners and financial provision for children. Sarah now specialises in divorce and private children work.
Sarah has experience working on complex children’s matters which often arise as a result of a dispute occurring between parents, which often relate to issues of which parent they live with or the time they spend with the non-resident parent.
