James has experience in a breadth of family law issues, including divorce, finances, unmarried partners and children disputes.
James has two areas of specialty: advising on the removal, or the prevention thereof, of children from the jurisdiction and financial division upon divorce. The latter of these often includes significant assets and income, some of which involve prosperous businesses or sizeable pensions.
Although these are James’ areas of particular interest, he is fully committed to all aspects of family law and has experience in advising on the rights of unmarried partners, other children related issues, nuptial agreements, non-molestation and occupation orders.
James is a member of Resolution.
Training & employment experience
He studied Law at the University of Sheffield and then moved straight on to his Legal Practice Course at the College of Law in London. James then undertook his training contract at a firm in Cambridge, qualifying in 2013. Since then, he has specialised in family law, working in London before joining Stowe in St Albans, returning to the county in which he grew up.
James always prioritises the needs of his clients. He listens very carefully to instructions at the outset and carries out clients’ wishes efficiently and effectively. James acknowledges that his clients are often going through incredibly difficult times in their lives and therefore provides clear, concise and honest advice.
Outside of work
James is a keen sport enthusiast in his spare time, particularly football and cricket which he enjoys both watching and playing.
