Benjamin Stowe graduated in 2010 with a First Class Honours in Law from the University of Leeds, LLB (Hons). He won the Irwin Mitchell prize for European Union law and his dissertation ‘A Socio-Legal Study of Divorce and Family Law in England and Wales: Following on from the repeal of the Family Law Act 1996 where next for Divorce Law Reform?’ received a publishable first class grade. Benjamin moved on to obtain the Legal Practice Course at Kaplan Law School in London and Certificate in Family Law from CLT.
Benjamin brings commercial law skills to divorce law. He qualified and worked initially as a commercial litigator at a global City law firm in London and Hamburg. He has acted on a number of high profile cases representing a range of international clients in both arbitration and commercial court proceedings. Benjamin’s background as a commercial litigator contributes to his negotiating skills and litigation acumen, whilst his personal experience of the divorce courts enables him to address his cases with empathy and common sense.
Benjamin specialises in all work relating to family law. Working from our London office, he advises people on the practical, legal and financial consequences resulting from the breakdown of relationships, covering a wide range of assets from the modest to those involving complex business structures, as well as those cases involving children. He also advises a number of international family law clients often with substantial assets and an international element, as well as negotiating and drafting pre-nuptial and post-nuptial agreements. He has acted for a wide range of clients, assisting them to resolve their disputes both through the court system and outside the court arena, through negotiations.
