Specialisms

Katy has extensive experience with cases involving child arrangement orders, domestic abuse cases and financial settlements. She would like to work more on prenuptial agreements and cases involving surrogacy.

Approach

To supplement her specialist knowledge in areas of Family Law, Katy has an abundance of experience supporting clients on their journey through the legal process, starting from the earliest preliminary stages and continuing until the final judgment. She adopts an empathetic and versatile approach, recognising that no two families are the same.

Accreditations & awards

Awarded Oxford University Press Law Prize in 2018 for dissertation which focussed on the similarities between domestic abuse and terrorism.

Selected to speak at a lecture on domestic abuse at 1 Kings Bench Walk and focussed on how the Family Court is tackling allegations of coercive and controlling behaviour.

Outside of work

Katy enjoys visiting theatres to watch musicals, plays and comedy. She has a diverse sporting background which includes skiing, playing in a local netball league, attending football matches as a (reluctant) Stoke City FC supporter and, more recently, following women’s football.
