Michelle has advised and represented clients in divorce and financial matters, clients who have not been married and those who have issues in relation to their children.
Michelle has significant experience of complex financial cases involving substantial income and capital, both in this country and abroad, as well as matters involving business and trust aspects. She has advised unmarried clients in relation to property disputes and those who have not been able to reach agreement about arrangements for their children, in relation to clients seeing children and also financial disputes relating to children too.
Training & employment experience
She was educated at Hulme Grammar School, Oldham and the University of Manchester, where she studied English, graduating in 1994. Michelle then converted to law and took the Common Professional Examination in 1996, followed by the Legal Practice Course in 1997. Michelle qualified as a solicitor in 1999, specialising in Family Law. Prior to joining Stowe, Michelle has practiced exclusively within the North West, working with firms renowned as family law specialists. This experience has provided her with a detailed knowledge of all aspects of Family Law.
Michelle’s approach is always to the client, their interests and objectives, first and foremost, by being empathetic, practical and realistic. Michelle recently undertook a professional development course in Psychology which has enhanced and extended her professional skills, methods of communication and has provided her with alternative perspectives when considering the most effective methods of resolving her client’s issues.
Outside of work
In her free time, Michelle enjoys running, pilates and reading.
